You can post anecdotes all you like (as did I) but the facts are pretty clear. If you keep a gun in your house, it's not real likely to be used to "protect" anyone, and far more likely to shoot a member of your family. Or be stolen to arm a "bad guy".

Exactly. Or several bad guys. I have a friend, a "responsible gun owner" whose entire collection, including ammunition and the large safe it was stored in, stolen from his home. The whole damn shebang grew legs and disappeared before the cops could respond to his security alarm. Less than fifteen minutes. A hole saw, heavy duty furniture moving equipment and a truck was all it took, according to the investigator. They even left the drill laying on his porch with no fingerprints to trace.
30+ more black market weapons on the street.

Exactly. Lowest murder rates in Chicago in 50 years. Imagine if gun control were as tight everywhere. It's amazing one city can have any impact at all. But lowest in half a century is pretty impressive. It would have to be many times more effective if everyone were to enact the tough Chicago legislation.

Protecting his family by putting more armed "bad guys" on the streets. Thanks, responsible gun owners of America! We really appreciate it.

Well, you NEED 30 guns if you're really going to keep the house safe! Or, you know, MAKE YOURSELF A TARGET FOR CRIME!

Irony-
You know those stories you see where some ass puts a sign in the yard saying "Rob my neighbor, he doesn't have any guns" (or some such nonsense). Who'd a thunk the real crooks would rather break into your place and get your guns. Want to keep crooks out of the house? Get a dog.
But please! Not a damn Pit Bull! You know, Pit Bulls don't kill people, people kill... oh, no. Actually, it's the Pit Bulls.

The result of increased gun control?
