Terrorist detainees, set to be released later. Have you forgotten that we are slowly shutting that place down? What do you think your government has been doing with former inmates? Releasing them. That's what.
They would have sent soldiers to get him anyways, even if it was just to arrest him. As I understand it, now, there has been some internal (Army) argument going on about that for the last five years.
I'm guessing these factors were a part of the presidents decision.
It still hasn't played out yet. We still don't know why the military has as yet to charge him with anything even though he (allegedly) deserted five years ago. I'm thinking they will, but only in response to public pressure.
Why?
As to the illegality of the presidents actions, yes, he is being accused from all sides and rightfully so.
There is something strange about all of this. I don't think it's as simple as "Obama is a dumbass.".
