Unless we now have a mole in one or more of the detainees we traded. If that's the case then the trade makes perfect sense and we may never know. We should never know.

I dunno a few thousand news sources are saying this guy is a deserter. Eager no, actually if you look back on page one of this thread I was eager to be thrilled about the news one of our POWs was released. Unfortunately three days later there's a turd in the punch bowl.

Honestly, I haven't been following it, I've been ridiculously busy the last couple of days, doing a ton of work to my work truck and cycling group stuff.

I just did some reading up. I didn't realize six guys had been sent to "rescue" this guy. Looks like a terribly botched "Saving Private Ryan" with a disappointing ending sort of deal.
