Patty Griffin - Children Running Through

A wonderful album. Seeing her next week at the Lincoln Theater in DC.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Awards

What a show! Linda Ronstadt, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens. Far out, man! Hall and Oates and...KISS?

The show was excellent. Once again Paul did an excellent job as music director. Yousef Islam did an excellent job. He sounds just like he did when he was Cat Stevens. I'm not particularly fond of Islam; however, I respect anyone that walks away from a career like he had as Cat Stevens to pursue his philosophical ideals. His acceptance speech was also very tactful.

The E Street Band was awesome as usual and really deserved to be in a few years back IMHO. Tom Morello's speech wrt Kiss was enthusiastic. Though I rarely listen to them, their shows were a lot of fun. Nirvana sans Kurt was done well and having the women sing Kurt's songs was a great idea. Joan Jett did a great job and looked great. I also agree with Dave Grohl, she ought be inducted. St. Vincent and Lordes representing the young also were good. Kim Gordon's attire made me breakout my collection of Francois Hardy jpegs.

Here's my all time favorite model atop an F1 Car:

The E Street Band segment was great. The Boss isn't normally in rotation around here. Too bad the 'Big Man' Clarence Clemmons didn't live to see this, his wife's acceptance speech was great.

Some Moody Blues 'Threshold of a Dream' this fine afternoon.
