The chinese as well as the ex soviets have tasted Capitalism and they like it.it seem some of you liked it when you were buing your Nikes and t.v's from slave labor and now that the chinese are enjoying what we have been for hundreds of years ,it seems to be a problem.the American Worker choose to be were he is.the choice for american labor shows by the unwillingness of the average laborer to take a meniel job.their is work out there but no one is biting,they want the cushy jobs.

I am glad you use the words "some".

Different people have different reasons for not buying Chinese exports.

However I believe there is a significant section which thinks that we are going
to be challenged militarily someday by the Chinese and therefore we should not contribute to their build up.

It may be argued that may be all due to our wide spread commitment to various countries...we have tied up ourselves in treaties and guarantees.

On a threat assessment level China plays very large, and there's the very real thing that there's always, always a war between a waxing world power and waning one.

It is the single most defining issue of our age. I think that all things being equal our leaders have done a pretty good job of it, trying to tie China into the wests' system. This may be worth the economic disruption, I don't know.

When I was in Okinawa in 1990 they still had gas station attendants...
they would be in uniform and would bow once you were done and actually go out in the street and stop traffic so you could leave the station quickly.

American corporations would see that as a waste of potential profit.
It is not all the fault of the American worker.
