Be an interesting view from the sidesled, but I'll pass. Leading with my head at speed seems just a bit too chancy.
No, you have it quite wrong in one fundamental way. It's not "him" but "her".

The "power unit" is in fact a motorcycle, fully faired and built very low to the ground. The passenger ("monkey" in sidecar-racing-speak) isn't just along for the ride, nor is she in the process of coming unstuck (though it happens).

The monkey has a job. That's to use her weight/mass to stabilize the bike in the turns. In this photo, it would appear that they are well into a right bend and she has shifted her weight as far to the right as possible to keep the rig from falling over on its left side. On the straights she would tuck in behind the fairing on the sidecar to reduce drag.

In left-hand bends it gets very interesting. The monkey actually climbs up and over the rider to hang out over the left side of the rig.

The photo below shows a rig with a the sidecar on the left but you'll get the idea.

You find out about such inetersting sports too late, It might have been quite interesting to have such a monkey climbing over one.
