Back on topic, from the WaPo article in the OP:

"The White House rejected Ryan's plan and said in a statement that it "would slow the economy, stack the deck against the middle class and threaten the guaranteed benefits seniors have paid for and earned."

Someone needs to update the talking points that the White House uses. I think they pull out the same short stack of talking points and just reuse them, no matter what the issue is. I suspect if the House GOP proposed billions for new road construction, the White House would issue a statement saying that such a plan would hurt women, minorities, seniors and the middle class....

...and maybe even kill your dog.

Sure they would, Mike, sure they would. You are pre supposing that House 'pubbies would ever touch a works program, it might give the president a victory lap. Your analogy needs some work.

Let me get this straight.

You say the White House is wrong. And the reason why you give is that you can IMAGINE A HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION, in which you can IMAGINE the White House being really a bunch wrong.

Anyone would have to be drunk to buy that.
