Yeah, this is not Miss Manners' favorite website. And there are plenty here who come from the left who are rude. But I have never seen so many useless posts from one poster in such a short time. And those who have been identified as left wing here include folks who voted for Reagan and Bush, so it's not a purely ideological disconnect going on here. We have an individual who is either incapable of rational expression, or a troll who feigns such incapacity. In either event, it has made me appreciate the ignore function.

While I agree with the message in your post, I'm not quite able to appreciate the ignore feature as you do. It feels like a repression of speech to me especially in this type of forum. Intellectually, I can argue otherwise, but the feeling of cutting of someone's voice when activating the feature bothers me.
On the other hand, I understand why the ignore feature has been popular lately.
