Really? The IRS's own estimates that there are around 4.5 million sub - S corps out there. That seems pretty significant to me. And since this is really about the tax impact on sub -S corps, this number would not take into account LLC's that opt to pay taxes under sub - S rules. That jacks the number up even higher. Again, seems pretty significant to me.

Such observations are not usually made in reference to an S-Corp, or a Partnership, or a Sole Proprietorship because most of the moronic teabaggers spewing these chunks out of their festering pieholes about "job creators" are repeating what they hear on FOX or the EIB don't have a fucking clue what an S-Corp, or a Partnership, or a Sole Proprietorship...or know a schedule C from shinola.

And the conservatives who do know how the tax code works don't give a shit about job creation. What they want is lower taxes for themselves. If some poor family is eating cornstarch out of the box for dinner, American conservatives don't give a shit in Sean Hannity's hat about it. And you know it.

So, in the aggregate, how many people do they employ? Sub-S corps are often the guy who sells a lot on eBay or is a one-man building contractor or tradesman who may hire the occasional casual for a bigger than average job but who mostly works on his own. My own Sub-S was me and one other guy.

Whell, it's not that you don't know what you're talking about. It's that you do know what you're talking about but that you choose to distort and to outright lie to serve your sociopathic agenda.

My own understanding is that Sub S is opted by small employer owned businesses for the main purpose of avoiding dual tax filing and dealing with withholdings etc. If some of these people get paid in cash, do they really report it?

I once had an instance where a trade person asked for cash instead of check for some work he did for our company. I said sure but will have to 1099 him. He opted for a check.

Calling these guys job creators is a stretch by a long mile.

Well, shit John. What am I lying about now??

Just to be clear, I've made no particular assertions here, other than daring to suggest that my observations are at odds with your statement. Maybe in your eyes, just daring to suggest that my observations are at odds with your statement is enough to be classified as a liar.

Will someone please point me to the woodshed? I suspect I'll be taking up residence there.

Fine and dandy. The median size of a client in my book of business is about 30 employees. About 60% of those are S-Corps (and some subset of the other 40% file as S-corps, but whatever).

I don't see their tax returns Dave. Sorry, I can't feed your grist mill today.
