It is true that those who tread to the right are a distinct minority here. I do find it interesting that one of that persuasion would suggest affirmative action here. I am pretty sure that the suggestion was tongue in cheek, but it is interesting nonetheless.

Having grown up as a white boy in suburbia, I had no real experience at being a minority of any sort. When those of us who have experienced majority status most of our lives find ourselves in a minority position, it should give us some understanding of those who have grown up facing it their entire lives. It just might show that affirmative action isn't a half-baked do-gooder idea.
