Problem is once you retire you can't afford to stay in the state if you want to. Between local, county, state, and sales tax your driven right out.
My point is the state job itself with the pension (no matter how or who funded that itself) was made possible by the citizens of said state. I do not see it as unreasonable that the state should in turn collect enough revenue to keep services going.

When I hear people bitch about high wages here and pension benefits there, I let them say their piece.........

Most of these fools know damn well if they saw a hiring sign outside the business that pays strong salaries and great benefits, especially if it offers a lifetime pension, they'd apply in a heart-beat. They're lying if they tell you they wouldn't. They're full of shit, Robbin, they just don't want each other to know it.
