Nah. The Soviets signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler, so that really makes them all Nazis.

Except for Patton. He wanted to keep his tanks rolling all the way to Moscow. Smart fella, that Patton.

Patton was a narcissist and had he got his wish to try to go to Moscow it would've doubled our body count for nothing. You need to stop watching Hollywood flicks thinking they are documentaries Mike.

I doubt that even former President Ronald Reagan (the “Great Communicator”) would be thought well-spoken in today’s toxic political climate.
Indeed. Here are a few Goldwater quotes from his later years on the topic of religious zealots taking over the GOP.

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they’re sure trying to do so, it’s going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can’t and won’t compromise. I know, I’ve tried to deal with them.”

“Religious factions will go on imposing their will on others unless the decent people connected to them recognize that religion has no place in public policy. They must learn to make their views known without trying to make their views the only alternatives.”

"When you say 'radical right' today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party away from the Republican Party, and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye."

“Everyone knows that gays have served honorably in the military since at least the time of Julius Caesar.”

“It’s time America realized that there is no gay exemption in the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the Declaration of Independence.

Me too.

I remember back when I was growing up and everybody liked IKE.

IKE is rolling over in his grave today.

These extremists that have taken over the party aren't fit to shine Ike's shoes.

Another example of false equivalency from you.

Last time it was you trying to assign the Democrats equal blame with the Republicans for the invasion of Iraq. This time it's you trying to equate OWS with Bagger Nation as being equally batshit crazy.

What bullshit.

Me three.

I once posted a thread about this. Basically, I bemoaned the loss of the GOP that used to build things for all to use; National Parks, Hydroelectric Dams, the Interstate Highway System......

The GOP of today is just about completely worthless, nigh onto becoming a detriment to the American people. The split personality, senile Uncle Ron who lives in the basement shouting a bunch of nonsense about manly essence, exceptionalism and what-not. Loss of sanity and decline into uselessness truly is a sad thing to watch.
