Santana---Caravanserai

Picked this cd up at Goodwill for $3. Very interesting piece of rock/jazz fusion from the early '70s. Just the weird, spacey kinda thing I love.

That came out around the same time Carlos did an album with Jon McLaughlin called Love Devotion and Surrender. They are in the same ballpark.

Funny story about how I discovered Mahavishnu Orchestra. I had heard something by Electric Light Orchestra and went into the record store and couldn't remember the full name of the band (I have always had a problem remembering names). The store clerk showed me where they had Mahavishnu Orchestra, and I took Birds of Fire home for a major revelation.

This is the same store where I once went in looking for an album by E. Power Biggs, and the girl told me that she didn't know I liked country music. Also at that store, I picked up the first Blue Oyster Cult album, and got it home to find Jim Nabors' greatest hits inside.

I really miss that record store.

Regards,

D-Ray

A good one there, I have it on LP. The cover art is cool.

The earlier mention of Caravanserai prompted me to pull Santana's "Welcome" out of the stacks.
