Oddly enough Finn I was a member of the conservative party back home. I did complete tenth grade and led the class of some thirty in the finals. I have travelled amd lectured extensively in Europe, Israel, Australia. Been subsequently tested and they tell me my IQ falls in the 99th percentile which is at the very bottom right of a Gaussian distribution. Was in Mensa for a year until it got boring. Also the IEEE made me a full member based upon (as the admissions board worded it) 'my contributions to the discipline.

Of course here on PC they claim I am a flaming liberal, but politically I tend to just go with what works.

I have no doubt you would have skated through to get a BSEE, had that been your choosing.
