There's actually a somewhat funny story about this specific 70-71 period. Shortly after the release of Kiln House the band was on tour in early 1971 and one day Jeremy Spencer apparently told his band mates that he was going out to buy a magazine and never came back. They found out he had joined this Christian cult group called the Children of God. And as I vaguely remember from back then, those people were seriously weird. Yikes.
When I saw your post, I ran to the vinyl pile and I have Rattlesnake Shake on right now. Man this is great!
So I'm listening to that, from the later '69 release of Then Play On, with "Oh Well".
