Revolver was my 1st record purchase too, late 70s. I recently bought the newer release on vinyl, Capitol purple label iirc. It's a pretty good pressing.

Yep!

IIRC your son plays bass. He may like this one.

So much for the trip down Memory Lane. It was a heckuva introduction to the pop/rock music world. I listened to it again a few years ago, after I got into the vintage gear habit, and it was as if it was brand new again. What a ground-breaking album.

Yeah it is a great album...probably the best outside of Abbey Road....it has the best mix of all of their talents. I actually have the 7 1/2 isp Capitol factory reel from the 60s....I would sell that on BT but there is weird sort of drop in volume on one of the channels on the second side of the tape. I guess I need to test all of the tracks on an auto reverse deck.

A triple vinyl. And the first recorded appearance of "One More Saturday Night."

I know I told this story already...but back in October '71 we happened to be in the room the night of only their third performance of it ever in front of an audience. Nobody in the crowd had ever heard it before and the place went absolutely nuts.

That happens to be the tune playing at this very moment.
