For now. Also, quite a few of them are the employers who provide the healthcare for themselves and their employees. Many of those are in the small group market, and are about to have their premiums jacked by Obamacare's community rating requirements. So, that $100k is not going to go as far. But, as Obama said, some folks are going to get a haircut.

As the act is implemented in phases and people come to realize the benefits, then maybe the anti affordable health care folks will quit their whining.

I think it's a good thing that minimum standards have been set for health plans under the ACA. This allows for valid comparison shopping and, accordingly, the effects of competition to take hold. Some of the plans that are being bumped by the minimums established by the ACA should well be bumped.
In short, ACA, like any other law, will have winners and losers. The losers are the erstwhile freeriders and most other will be winners. Personally, I'm completely unaffected other than the ability to have my 22 and 24 year old kids stay on my policy and save a bunch thereby, even though both of their employers offer plans whereby ~75% of premiums are paid. Free is still cheaper for them than the remaining 25%.
This explains it pretty well:

'Affordable Care Act' - reminds me of the 'Patriot Act' Lies, damned lies, and politicians.
Man oh man is this taking a drubbing. Now they've been warned? Hoo boy, heads are going to roll. Great political theater.

Actually it will work. It is not going to be repealed. This battle is just evidence of its institutionalization.

So, if I'm in a scenario where I've been relatively healthy, and I decide to purchase a health plan that has a $3000 individual deductible (which would be a non-compliant plan under ACA), so I can save money on premium and bank it for future health care expenses rather than simply pay it in premium to enrich a health insurance carrier, I'm a "free rider" in your definition?

Exhibit 5 - Wapo never gave Romney "Four Pinocchios" for spewing endless BS and lies about the content of Romneycare. Obama, however, gets Four Pinocchios for the BS content of his statements regarding Obamacare.

Where the BS is is in the mouths of ACA critics. There was a guy, consutant to healtcare organizations, on Newshour last night. Claimed he had a Cadillac plan with BC/BS and they cancelled it because it did not meet ACA requirements? Excuuse me - some Cadillac. Our plans are with Care First BC/BS and we rarely see a bill from health providers. No talk of cancelling in fact the want to sell us a Part D equivalent = at twice what Florence currently pays.
Oh I also found out that my former employer, now that we have Part D, will cover whatever Part D does not pay.
Instead of all this gloating and whining and endless useless hearings just maybe if Congress got the finger out and fixed the problems we might just get what we are paying them to do.
Oh BTW we are grandfathered in because we have had these plans pprior to 2010.
