Put it this way - Dowdy is appealing to a constituency who thinks that the National Guard did the right thing at Kent State.

Simple Dave, The 1st says the right to peacfully assemble which does not cover dumping barricades at the WhiteHouse and demanding that the POTUS comeout with his hands up. I doubt if there was a single honest to God WW II veteran in that crowd of idoits

An actual WWII veteran is now in their mid to late 80s...the war was 70 years ago. I was even questioning if there were Vietnam vets but one of them appeared old enought to be one. There was a younger middle aged dude with a blue US Navy Unit baseball cap on...those are what you wear when you are actually stationed on a ship. I would not be surprised if he was a Navy retiree with a military pension railing against "government medicine" (which all military retirees get for practically free)

I spent my senior year in college living in a dorm just next to that building in the picture.
Johnson Hall.

That building in the picture may be Johnson Hall, but I am not really a 100% sure since I cannot reference it off to the School Of Architecure building, in front of which the protest was taking place.

I was there in 1984 in Johnson...that part of campus is beautiful...nothing creepy about it.
