No thanks. I will not be standing with them.

It was yet another sickening display of the ignorant stupidity that characterizes of the far right mouth breathers who wrap themselves in Old Glory for every photo op while wiping the snot from their faces with the Constitution.
ps A lot of veterans showed up to protest the war in SE Asia back in '70-'71 in D.C. Those guys sure were a tough bunch, tossing the teargas canisters back at the police. The parents of the slain were there too.
Not much of that aspect made it to the evening news or the mainstream press.

We lived in it another year before affording to have electric poles put on the property. When it was cold, my only pair of pants had to be washed in the creek, and they would freeze as we had no heat. I would put them on frozen and when I got on the buss they would start thawing and would be wet until about luchtime when they would dry. Yeah, the kids had a field day and I hated it. A teacher felt bad about it and bought me some clothes and sent me home with them. My dad got in his car and drove them to the teachers house and said he didn't take handouts and left the clothes with her. But today I'm happy to have a dry roof over my head and I'm not picky about keeping up with the Jones. Just happy to have raised my own kids in a better situation, man. I see peoples kids fuss about not having the latest phone or game, and think to myself...they have no idea.

It's easy to question the 'false pride' in not taking the clothes, but pride is worth everything when you're struggling. It's what keeps you going.

Piker. Lucky for us, family of nine (seven kids) we had the high Sierras and the national forests surrounding L.A. to camp in every summer. Dad was a preacher and we had army surplus mummy bags and heavy canvas tents that smelled moldy for our excursions to King's Canyon, Yosemite and many lesser known places like Carpenteria on the coast. We got to travel the country in an old Rambler wagon.
I wouldn't trade any of those memories for all the tea in ...

Check out the views of the Teabagger grass-roots "leadership" after the GOP got its clock cleaned.

Yes. And us boys knew that dad was doing his best. It was real hard getting hired but he finally found work and things slowly got better. He bought a woodstove, and had enough money to drive to a place to wash and dry clothes. That was worth alot to us. I learned to run a chainsaw at age 12 and my job was keeping wood cut and carried out of the woods one trip at a time with a wheel barrow. And I didn't mind it one bit because I knew I wouldn't be cold.

I may have to donate a few bucks to the re election campaigns of these moderate Republicans that the 'baggers are so furious with but only if the Democratic challengers have no chance of winning.
