And today, the Republicans are dominated by the tea party, which has no organized structure, no platform, no hierarchy and no leader.

Hmmm, I could swear I read somewhere that the Krotch Bros. supplied a quarter billion to tea bagger causes last year. IMO, they bought and now own the group. They certainly would be nothing without them old miserable fools.

NYT says 200, not 250 million.

The billionaire Koch brothers, Charles and David, have been deeply involved with financing the overall effort. A group linked to the Kochs, Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, disbursed more than $200 million last year to nonprofit organizations involved in the fight. Included was $5 million to Generation Opportunity, which created a buzz last month with an Internet advertisement showing a menacing Uncle Sam figure popping up between a woman’s legs during a gynecological exam.

I get the feeling that the 'bagger caucus and their puppet masters over at Heritage have no compunctions about taking money from anyone and then going their own way when it suits them. They envision themselves as true believers.

Tea Party Express is proud to stand for six simple principles:
No more bailouts
Reduce the size and intrusiveness of government
Stop raising our taxes
Repeal Obamacare
Cease out-of-control spending
Bring back American prosperity

I am actually for many of the same principles, but I would actually like to see an effective prospectus on how to accomplish them.

That's a "Mom and Apple Pie" list, numb-nuts. Everybody wants most of those things, though most don't want to return to where our health care system was before Obamacare. The public wants a fully functioning Obamacare or better yet, single payer.
Let's see if the Teabaggers can elect a majority in the House, Senate as well as the President and pursue these items as the constitution envisions, rather than trying to blackmail their way there with 40 blithering idiots representing them in the House (e.g., Bachmann, Gohmert, King ...).

Indeed, those are the same old talking points. No more bailouts but no regulating Wall St., give me a break.

If BeamOn is waiting upon the likes of Bachmann, Gohmert, King, Cruz ... to deliver him to the promised land, he's got a long wait. I don't know if there's ever been a bunch so ill-suited to governance.

The only tea I like is the one I can drink.
I was looking up various factions of TP yesterday and this group seems to go a bit over the top with their zeal.

Come next election, with the gerrymandered districts and Koch money, it is quite possible that TP will have a majority in the house, especially if they lose out on Obamacare. Scary thought.
