Actually Jack, I have enough faith in Republicans to believe that there are enough of them to vote to reopen the government and pay our bills - if the matter would get to a vote. You do believe in the democratic (small d) process don't you? Or do you believe that a fraction of the Congress should prevent what the majority of Congress is ready to vote for. If Boehner thinks that the majority of the House will back his position, he should hold the vote and see. That would certainly get him the negotiations that he wants.

There is an axiom I learned a long time ago. "Do not expose your ignorance any more than you have to."
Bush and his cronies spent $10 Trillion on Iraq and Afghanistan looking for WMD's and Bin Laden. How did that turn out?
What happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack, not a massacre. Targeted killings of Americans including our forces goes on every day. Who do you think started all this effing mess in the middle east to begin with and no end in sight? Hint: The shoe incident.

See, folks, here iz where I'm at;
40 years ago, I watched as hordes of of decent hardworkin' Christian country folk got all excited, thinkin' theys gonna build a better life fer da workin' man, pushed things WAY too friggin' far and runeded all of da industry in my hometown. Now, these same ignernt cornpones is all excited agin and fightin' hard to "Save America" from the nigro mooslim. (And, NO, jus 'cuz I called him a "nigro" does not mean I am racist. It means YOU are.)
I've been accused of saying "Americans" are stupid. They join one party, take a good thing abuse the shit out of it, carry things to unhealthy extremes, then blame it on someone else and join the other party.................................and carry on like idiots over there.
What I'm 'spose to think?
Gettin' a little tired of my fellow Americans trying to fix things that they broke.
Dave

My dad did civil disobedience protests when he first retired. They even sent him to a class to show him how to make 3 cops have to pick him up and carry into the paddy wagon not 2. He really had a good old time doing it.

Benghazi was Obama's lowest single moment yet (and that's saying a lot with his level of incompetence). It wasn't the negligence in being unprepared, or the failures of leadership which kept help from being sent, but the cover-up which in itself shows the mindset which prevailed and led to all of the above problems with Benghazi. Obama's behavior over Benghazi was treasonous and the fact that he hasn't been called to task for it yet has emboldened him to even greater levels of rampant corruption and disloyalty to his country's honor and best interest. Wait and see.

Of course the Republicans want to reopen and pay the bills. At a budget we can afford.
The Speaker and all the Republicans are on the job willing to negotiate. Yesterday
The President "called", didn't get his way so he goes on tv lashes out at everyone
and threatens our financial well being. That was the most distasteful speech I have ever
heard coming from a President. We deserve an apology for that.

We must respectfully disagree on this one. I read the transcript, and I believe that the President quite accurately described what was going on.
The debt ceiling permits us to pay for spending that Congress has already approved. If we want less spending - or other ways to reduce the deficit - do it through the budget process, not as post-agreement extortion.
I thought Republicans take a dim view of deadbeats.
And c'mon, you know who is financing the extreme elements of the formerly GOP - and those folks aren't looking out for the interests of anyone but the most wealthy.
Regards,
D-Ray
