Can You Find Your Representative On This List?

Nope, Dana Rohrbacher - T, Ca. isn't there. Mebbe he needs a new surfboard?

I don't care if my Congresscritter is on it or not. Being on the list buys them cheap cover for their incompetence/intransigence at the cost of several days or weeks of salary.

You're right as usual, Pat. I can't help myself slamming my representative, tho.

I'll bite, Chris. I would give our President a gold star for his handling of the latest debacle in Syria. As a result of some serious sabre rattling towards Assad? They are signing the Chemical Weapons Treaty and all that entails.

There was a creative commenter on one of the shutdown articles:

"Look, people, here’s the deal. The budget is like an office pizza party. We got too many people in the office right now, though – these are your illegal immigrants. They didn’t legally pay into the pizza party pot. So they get no pizza. I don’t know who those people are so I’m going to assume it’s all of you unless I see evidence to the contrary, like a passport or you’re a white guy. Plus, it’s about fiscal austerity. This is no time for frivolous spending! The deal from Papa John’s is you get TWO toppings for $10. Third toppings are off the table. And even if you wanted to pay for it, where would you come up with the money? The amount that we requested to submit for the office pizza party is $1. You want me to pony up another $1 to subsidize your desire for pizza without anchovies on it?!? Who doesn’t like anchovies?!? It’s the closest thing to what the Founders would eat on their pizza, so we’re getting it. Now, a standard pizza pie comes in 8 slices. But in the real world people want to eat more than one slice! It’s what’s expected, and dammit I’m getting my 2 slices, maybe a third if I can finish mine quickest – because in the free market those who take, win, and if you’re some intellectual namby-pamby would wants to contemplate his pizza while eating it than you lose, have fun at your Obama lovefest rally in Moscow, commie. And we got more people, so we’ll cut it into 16 slices. But, only as long as I get my two slices at the same size because I’m no moocher. I paid my $1 into the pizza pot and I should get the amount of pizza I’m used to receiving. The only way that’s fair is if all those moochers don’t get ANY pizza. Or we’ll cut their ¾ of the pie into 32 slices. Whatever. Fair is fair. I mean what proof do you have that they paid into the pizza pot?!? But here’s the great news. There’s always leftover pizza. It trickles down to the rest of you moochers because we leave the old pizza in the breakroom."

I may have spoke too soon.

"Republican Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler announced on Twitter that she will give 100 percent of her salary to a local charity."

Now, I'm left wondering which of these so called charities are furnishing tax receipts for these donations?

Regardless, I'm with Finnbow. All of these critters are looking for is any kind of cover they can get in this Teapublican shutdown debacle. I don't care how much they try to launder the smell of s**t off of themselves, all of this will be remembered come election time.

Yep. Paul Ryan isn't on the list, though local sources say he will forgo pay. I say why bother, especially after the soup kitchen incident (which happened only a year ago).
