I'm no fan of Harry Reid (mostly over the shuttering of Yucca Mt.), and generally hold him in equal esteem to Mitch McConnell (very low in both cases). However, the Teabaggers have somehow succeeded in making him look like the embodiment of competence, virtue and leadership in comparison. The 'Baggers have screwed the pooch (and the GOP) badly with this fiasco.

I am wondering, how is this a representative democracy if one person (Boehner) can block a vote in the house? And, is there an external mechanism to break the logjam?
