She'd better hope that the doorway is wide.

Hey Eddie, since you're such a saint, can I send you my insurance bills?

When I think of the America I grew up in and compare it to the one my grandchildren are burdened with it makes me want to weep. We are going to "me" ourselves into irrelevance first and oblivion last.

Agreed John, I did not come down here expecting to participate in the demise of a great nation. I thought I was coming to a place where people stood tall and who were IMHO among the most generous people in the world. Now I look about and see little people scurrying from one rat hole to another, biting anything within reach.
And Jesus wept.
Yet look at what you are doing in Haiti, men on the ground, a hospital ship bigger than the Bethesda Hospital, if you do it for perfect strangers why can't you do it for your fellow citizens? This really has been one of the biggest disappointments of my life, I had though better of you.

No - I'll have to look for it, thanks. I did read the lyrics.

One Senate seat, and we're finished?

Sorry I should've made it clear, it was more in general but your post was last.
Still, I thought Obama was going to save us all. 'He was going to bring balance to the force!'
We have the SAME basic government all these years, but now we're through?
Pete

If you think that the government is functioning now the same as it was say 15 - 20 years ago you are on a different planet than the rest of us.
If you have yet to detect the viscious attitudes expressed by people as compared to that same period, I have no idea what I can tell you.

Unfortunately, a lot of his supporters thought so but Obama said it himself when he said, "We are the change we've been waiting for."

No, we don't. A series of laws and Supreme Court decisions, plus the explosion in lobbyists and corporate money have changed our government horribly. We've gone from the Founding Fathers to the Funding Fathers.
