Zimmerman Walks

I hope that the Martin family takes the whole HOA to civil court and wins. Bulldoze the clubhouse and fill in the lakes and put up a twenty foot tall statue of young Mr. Martin in the middle as a civil rights memorial park.

I'm just a little crazy that way.

edit- Zimmerman is the only terrorist in this case and by all accounts offered by the defense a cowardly one, too.

Perhaps a jury in a civil case will determine whether there is some culpability and will be allowed to consider the other factors that were deemed insufficient to warrant a conviction for second degree murder (at least, in the opinion of the only ones with a say in the matter).

There are a number of things that don't work well in the system by which people in the US are brought before the criminal courts, but I still have confidence that our system works better than many many others. I have to conclude that it is better to have a system where someone like Zimmerman has a chance of walking than one in which people can be summarily detained without putting the government to the task of establishing guilt beyond a reasonable doubt (that is unless you are accused of being a terrorist).

If there is a court settlement against Zip a bankruptcy will not protect him. He will still pay. Might take the rest of his life but pay he will.

Naw, he wants to be a Fire Fighter now since being in Law Enforcement didn't work out so well.


All funnin, aside he did do a nice thing and hopefully has changed his life around. Learn some humility and love for his fellow man. Not just a feel good story for consumption.
