I find it interesting that those who practically worship the most well-heeled of society and believe only the very best* should be rewarded with compensation they can actually live on have the temerity to accuse ANYONE else of elitism. Elitism is at the very heart of their belief system. "Survival of the fittest", anyone?

(*Or most avaricious, as the case may be.)

I think you mean survival of the most "well connected."

Speaking of "children" when are you going to grow up and stop whining about being called an elitist?

We don't make such distinctions. It might upset them. You see, they've ALL "earned" their money. To suggest any of it was "ill begotten" or "handed" to them incites howls of Pavlovian indignation.

That, and you're just jealous, Ed.

What I found interesting about the whole thing was the fact that nobody said a word to the guy, not even the manager. In my opinion, this is because they all recognized that people who act and talk like this tend to be violent. They were intimidated, which is just what these losers want. Don't dare criticize or question, or there's an ass beating coming your way. I wonder how many McD managers are packing for self defense, just to try to run a restaurant.

Well it is true, I am jealous. I was one of the saps that believed in hard work. I just wound up missing life. I thought a pot of gold would be the reward. All I ever got was unemployed as company after company was put out of business by upper management.

Finally I was in the right place at the right time and was able to break into a job I had pursued over 15 years. Never worked hard again (i did put in the hours) and was shocked at how easy life can be.

I expected no less for a response.
"Deer in the headlights" meant stunned, surprised. I was of the same mind as everyone else working there, didn't want to find out what happened if you corrected the guy. People that can't control their mouth often can't control their actions either.
The manager, on the other hand, is responsible for the operation and must at some point correct the kid or remove him from the premises. He risks his own safety in doing so. I'm sure you've heard of workplace violence from disgruntled employees.

Interesting that when it comes to wealth so many think the playing field should be leveled, but when it's personal conduct the same folks seem to think that the biggest/most aggressive should rule over the little guys.
