So many nice cars in the world. Yet people drive Camrys and Accords.
I had to drive my 85 to the gas station last night. Get this - the tranny acted perfectly normal. It's freakin me out man!!
I'm really in trouble. The smart thing is to buy the old S10. The great thing is to buy a 1996 Cartier. In cream it may be the single classiest car of the 90s:

You need to touch up the bumper. Other than that, it's a real classic road hog.
The only local cop I currently know sure loved those Crown Vics.

They're vanishing from police forces now.. soon to be a memory.

Bought a 1988 S-10, 2.5l, 5 speed, no a/c, no power steering or brakes, 176k - the 'Little Duke'. Black, a bit of rust, bed clean but beat up. Very inexpensive and was rated 24 city / 30 hwy when new.
Worn but serviceable, runs good. I'll rebuild the suspension and front end (brakes and clutch already done!), a few other minor things, and drive it till it dies, in 20 or 30 years.

You won't have to worry about it, at all, either. Does it get any better?

And the answer - no, I really don't. My bro-in-law nixed it for my nephew because of no power steering/brakes. I don't really blame him.
So I bought a project that I don't want. I'm a genius

Why is no P/S & brakes a turn off? Fewer things to go wrong it seems like.

I'm OK with it. I actually like it, with that directness, tight drivetrain and the way the whole truck comes alive over 50 (vibrating and rattling like a mofo, I doubt there's a single bushing left) it's fun to drive!
But he's worried about his kid being able to handle it. I disagree but he's the dad.
