Not everyone is as fortunate as me. Some of those retirees are victims of the recession just like everyone else. Some of them work at Walmart too....

Maybe the commissary and the Naval Hospital is the only thing they got going for them.

I am done with this.

And you know what? The Tea Party is not going to lay one hand on commissary.

I have never had any great love for the MIC. Not even when I was a part of it. I saw the waste, the fraud and the abuse.

Believe it, or not, I joined simply out of a desire to serve my country. I did my time honorably, decided the Navy wasn't for me and left after four years. I expect NOTHING in return for that. It seems others have other motivations. Not that I can blame them for wanting to protect what they have accrued. Heck, I think that's what we ALL should be doing. However, the fact is they do now get just about the sweetest deal in existence. Way better than most of those who pay for it, that's for damn sure.

So, just smile, thank us for what we feel is well deserved reward and go on about your business.

I think they're just squealing because the large majority of military lifers are rightwingers, and what's been affecting the rest of us over the last few decades has finally reached them. Of course----THAT just can't be had!

I think you are onto something here , Dave. It reminds me of hearing my part Alaskan Native friend bitching about Obamacare and how he's gonna have to start paying for insurance like the rest of us instead of going to the res......

The natives have their own hospitals up here, they just finished one here in Wasilla.
I think you have to be 1/4 native, however that's determined. A great majority mixed with the Russians long ago, but this dilution isn't accounted for.
Also, I'm not sure why we have laws that discourage mixed relationships. Natives are encouraged to mate within their own race to preserve benefits for their offspring.
