G. F. Handel: MUSIC FOR THE ROYAL FIREWORKS

First performance caused a massive traffic jam in London.

Carole King: TAPESTRY

Dust off my copy and gave it a spin.

This was a massive hit for King.

Last Wednesday the Library of Congress recognised her for achievements in the music industry.

Listening to some Motown from the '60s this Memorial Day and thinking about those 58,000 of my generation who gave their all for that clusterfuck in Southeast Asia, the Vietnam War.

Man, I'm glad I was just a few years too young for that one.

Let it Roll by Little Feat

Great rock and roll album with guest appearances by some fans of the band. Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt and Bob Seger.

Sonny Rollins: THE BRIDGE

Bob Cranshaw
Jim Hall
Ben Riley

In 1959 Sonny took some time off to practise his craft.

The place he went was under the Williamsburgh Bridge...
A very considerate man - he did not want to disturb his
neighbor.

What emerged was a fantastic album - "The Bridge".
