Isn't any president not much more than a puppet this day and age? The last two have relied on the teleprompter heavily. If they could speak what they wanted they wouldn't read from left to right and stumble trying to keep up with what they are reading, as Obama did today. Not poking fun at him, it just appears the words are not totally his own or else he wouldn't stumble. Who tells them what to say? I remember Bush relying on it too. Didn't Lincoln shout out from the balcony into the crowd using his own words?

Always. It's all relative. The best Republican and Democratic presidents in the past 30 years (Reagan, Clinton) both have some pretty dirty laundry (Iran/Contra,Lewinsky). Like it or not, you get 'em warts and all.

The difference here is that with the speed information travels today it's hard to have time to write a speech let alone memorize it.

Presidents have been reading prepared material for longer than I've been around, for sure.....

After seeing how Wall Street was never made accountable and the expanding use of drones and now the ever more expanding personal data mining by the "left". I fear we are all in for bad times no matter who is in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in the future.

It seems the Left is rolling over on their core principles of late.

We have thousands, "THOUSANDS" dead because of made up lies. Billions, "BILLIONS" gone forever but all now lands on this Presidents door steps. Jeez .....

Unless the Dems take the house and increase their senate seats to 60 in '14, not too much unfortunately. Lot's of purpleish red states are going blue due to the repubs being the anti Latino party.
