Back when I was still a teenager there were two teen prgnancies. One was a lovely girl about three years older than I, the other was a classmate. Now there was a time when I might have gotten intimate with that classmate, but I am reminded of Peggy Lee's song "Is that all there is?" I guess that I have been a romantic all my life.

There was one common thread in those two pregnancies - their fathers were strict disciplinarians, I sincerely doubt that either one had ever demonstrated any affection toward their daughters. The younger sister of the older girl was a playmate in younger days, sweet as anything but timid in the extreme. I think she went into a religious order.
The families shipped both girls off to relatives until they delivered, the guys responsible were absolute SOBs.

Children need to know that they are loved. Hell we all need to know that we are loved. You can deprive a human being of almost anything thought to be necessary for survival, yet they will survive. Deprive them of love and you might as well put a gun to their head. That would be the kindest thing to do.
