The interesting fact about the Youngstown flood is that the danger had always been there and everyone knew it. They'd had less severe floods prior to 1913. It wasn't until the 1913 flood brought the local industry to a standstill for several months, that the money suddenly became available to build the dams.

After reading Ms. Parker's other collumn, she come's out as an apologist for GW. Oh, well...I guess she's entitled. Not that I agree with her assessment of this president. Iraq overshadows any accomplishment that he may have made.

I'll give Bush's momma a little credit. She said we don't need any more Bush's.

She's my gal, but that op-ed piece is lame, sycophantic bullshit. I don't doubt Dubya's humanity, but his judgment and job performance were truly abysmal, among the worst of Presidents.
