Given what went just before him he is bound to look great.
Sure, but they have no say in where it comes from. Big oil has already bought all the congress critters it needs.

Should be a moment of silence for this one. One of the worst defeats in US history.

I am still mad as hell. I had a conversation with a marine who participated in 2nd battle for Fallujah. Marines were sent in to do house to house, close quarters combat with insurgents who were well prepared and waiting for them.
What a waste of the flower of our youth.

I thought it wasn't about oil? I heard it was about bringing peace, freedom and prosperity to the Iraqi people. I never believed that hogwash, but, that's what our grossly incompetent Republican president told us back in '03. Did he not?
I don't see that ANY of the above has been achieved.

Hear, Hear!
Amazing, how the folks who go on about how much they love and respect "the troops" are the ones who are always so antsy to send them into harms way, whether it's necessary or not.
A crying shame, indeed.

Oil is a world security interest, just about every last person on earths' prosperity is tied to it, what little of it many have.

Although even Vietnam did accomplish some things though, as did Iraq.

Iraq must have been far different in many ways else why are so many of these young people taking ther own lives after returning home.
That we did not lose as may in Iraq as in 'nam is due to improvements in front line medical care. Instead of dying they come home as single, double or triple amputees. My Dad lost his right leg below the knee in an industrial accident before he and Mom were married. I know second hand what an amputee goes through.
