If it doesn't work, aren't we simply doing something just to assauge our guilt?

Most shootings here are gangbangers shooting each other. The measures in question won't touch them.

You really are "ghetto-obsessed", aren't you? stricter laws, though they won't eliminate gun killings, will reduce the number of them.

I like it, always a single cause for anything, always has nothing to do with any sort of regulation.

Seems to me if there was only a single cause then it would be easy to fix and would have been done years ago. Certainly gun regulations do need to be addressed as other issues but are not the only thing to address.

Are you sure most shootings are gangbangers shooting each other? I'd have to see some documentation to support that. You could be right.....I don't know.

Barbara, I found this on Ohio. I hope the link takes you to the right place in the report. The scroll bar says '8 of 17'.

All listed counties are urban and account for 90% of gun crimes.

One of the problems with the doctrine of states' rights and local control is that no locality can control the external influences. We don't have check-points entering states and cities. Even the cities with the toughest gun laws are not immune from having their streets infiltrated with firearms obtained from states where you can get an automatic weapon at the dime store. It would be difficult to have viable gun control without federal standards.

D-Ray

Central planning rears it's ugly head.
