Is that viable as in something that is acceptable to both sides and to the country in general, or viable enough to be able to stay in office? Viable to me means that I will pay more, the wealthy will pay more, the lower incomes will pay at least something, meaning elimination of EIC. Social Security will have to be streamlined and people that make over 109K will have to pay SS taxes on all income, not just the first 109K. SS will need to be revamped to a retirement supplement on a need basis. If you retire making as much or more than you made while working I see no need to have that supplemented by the government. This is just a bare start as to what needs to be done. Both parties have had their hands in this mess going back decades, and they are both going to have to quit blaming each other and get to figuring out how to fix it.

I saw an article earlier today....(I need to see if I can find it again..)...that said there is a group of CEOs preparing to head to DC and to tell some senate committee what needs to be done to "save America".................

Let me guess.........Cut "entitlements" for the poor and working class and give them the money, hundreds of billions worth, that'll fix everything.

I wonder is she ever makes the connection in her mind that most of us see her as an outsourcer like Romney. That is why we did not elect her when she ran for the Senate.

Outsourcers see themselves as the good guys. They're protecting us from high costs by eliminating all the good jobs.

Exactly what is the Republican bid to resolve the pending fiscal issues? I haven't heard any more details from the Congressional Republicans than we heard from Romney about his tax plan. And do the really think that Obama is going to negotiate a deal to extricate us from the aftermath of the last debt-limit fiasco, only to face another one within a couple of months? He has put his solutions to the problem on the table. Last I heard, they did not have a proposal on the table.
