Its a way of great way of addressing the main point, just not in a way that supports the conclusion of the original post. For example -

OP believes Rove, a Republican campaign strategist, is bad because he used "below the belt" tactics against Democrats.

Stephanie Cutter, a Democrat campaign strategist, produces a campaign add that accuses Romney of being implicit in the untimely death of a woman, and suggesting in an interview that Romney may have committed a felony. No comment from the OP so far decrying the these below the belt tactics as bad. The needle on the Hypoci-meter is pegged.

OP resents being told by anyone what he believes. He finds it particularly odious when the source of that "information" is someone who can't present an honest argument on any subject.

In fact, the OP has responded by refuting your characterization of Ms. Cutter's comments. He'll add here that she was not responsible for the ad you attribute to her. That was a PAC ad.

The OP will now conclude his post by saying that your assertions in this thread are glaring proof of your shameless mendacity.

You resent it? Well, boo hoo.

You want mendacity? Try this. Yes, the Joe Soptic ad was a Priorities USA PAC ad. Ms Cutter claimed she had no idea at all about Soptic or his story. Yet, it turns out she interviewed the guy on a con call just a few months before the ad ran.

Shit, she probably GAVE Soptic to Priorities USA, which of course would be a violation of campaign laws since campaigns cannot coordinate with PACs. Maybe Ms Cutter knows about being a felon from first hand experience?

Wait until after the election, and I'll have more flexibility to respond.

Has it occured to anyone that maybe he was just talking about scheduling? I mean, really? Campaigning takes up lots of time. Of course Republicans want to keep him off the campaign trail as much as possible, so I expect them to make their snipy little remarks. But, think about it. If it was a matter that can wait....................................

Yes, "some people say" that. If you have no evidence to support what you wrote above, then it's best not to speculate.

And are you sure Ms. Cutter was on that conference call? Do you know how much detail Soptic went into during the call?

John

There's a recording of the call over on You Tube. You can check it out for yourself. You'll hear Soptic mention Cutter by name, and you'll hear Cutter thank Soptic for sharing his story.

You do indeed make an ideal surrogate for Romney - no substance whatsoever.
