The conservative commentators are piling on. Micheal Gerson writes about Romney's "Ideology without promise."

In discussing the disappointing theme of makers versus takers, he penned a line that will resonate with several folks here, Gerson referred to an author popular with the Republican right wing:
Yet a Republican ideology pitting the “makers” against the “takers” offers nothing. No sympathy for our fellow citizens. No insight into our social challenge. No hope of change. This approach involves a relentless reductionism. Human worth is reduced to economic production. Social problems are reduced to personal vices. Politics is reduced to class warfare on behalf of the upper class.

A few libertarians have wanted this fight ever since they read “Atlas Shrugged” as pimply adolescents.
Think Mr. Gerson might be bit skeptical of Mr. Ryan?

Regards,

D-Ray

And Romney too. Didn't he do the "makers and takers" schtick in Boca?

I'm tellin' ya, Don, the Super Pac money's gonna move down ticket. They're done with Romney.

My youngest kinda summed it up last night, when he stated the GOP is out of touch with his generation. Obama is more in touch with his generation it seems, the GOP is a bunch of old rich folks. His words but I agree.....

We were watching Jon Stewart at the time.

Mr. Gerson appears to be very astute. He has Mitt and his ilk pegged.

If you think about Obama must surely connect with many of todays voters who did not grow up in traditional nuclear families i.e....mom,dad,two kids and the dog. Many of us come from single-parent households...I think this is significant.
