There isn't any magic fairy dust or a magic wand to wave over the housing industry to make it like it was during the heady bubble days. Your boy GW was also touting home ownership during that time, too. I worked on many of those flippers houses who made a killing during those years. The funny thing is it was a lot of superficial paint and new kitchens and bathrooms that were done. It was a hell of a return these people were making. More so than any other time in anyones recent memory. I don't begrudge them. I just wish people would stop thinking that era was any kind of normal and moaning wistfully about it. The story I posted up was that finally we are seeing some consistant good news nationally in regards to new home starts. I've always been a the glass is half full type and believe that is the way to look at life in general. To spread the party line that we are headed for second class nationhood may appeal to some but it's counterproductive to the idea that slow and steady as she goes is the only realistic and proper way to view our economy. How come you libs are so quick to jump on Bush, and Bush alone? How about the guy that was boning the Freddie Mac dude in the butt, and telling congress Fanny and Freddie were "good investments going forward". What was his name? Oh yeh, Bawny Fwanks, your favorite faggot and thief.

Unless I'm mistaken, Barney didn't control the executive branch of government and its regulatory apparatus. For that matter, he was only in the majority party in Congress for 2 of Dubya's 8 years. Yet, somehow the Right believes he had more responsibility and negative impact on the housing market than the President and the majority party in Congress for 6 of those 8 years. And to think it's the GOP always harping about the notion of personal responsibility. I guess that fat, drug-addled dropout from Cape Girardeau can make you believe anything.

Jay, this word is every bit as offensive as "the N word" you objected to in another thread. Neither word belongs in constructive or civilized conversation.

Did I say anything demonstrably untrue (or does it just conflict with Rush's daily wisdom that you seemingly lap up with a spoon)?

We could go full circle in the blame game. The government urged private lenders to make high risk loans. They did that at the behest of The Brookings Institute which is Washington's biggest and oldest think tank. It is funded by The Rockefeller Foundation and the Ford Foundation. Rockefeller and Ford are dead fat cats that are still running the world from their graves via the wealth they stored.

Rich people made this mess. Seriously, I'm laughing my ass off right now. You really don't have a clue do ya?

And you are fascinated with Bawney's pee pee because why?

That's it. I have to watch a White Men Can't Jump clip before the yo momma jokes start flying.

What's up Jay? Why are you so angry man. Bush the lesser don't walk on water.
You aren't paying attention to what I wrote Jay. Christ, you're better than that dude. While Franks was also on that bandwagon, Georgie was boning all of us with his butt boy Cheney pulling the rear of that train by declaring war on Iraq for no good reason other than to please his daddy and big oil. All on our dime and credit card BTW. Really Jay, who gives a rats ass what gays do in their own bedrooms. Why should we care what people do in their own castle's? Don't they have the right to choose their own path?

Why do you think the Shrub gets so much blame for tanking the American dream and pocketbook? He went after the wrong guy and it wasn't to satisfy the bloodlust we were all feeling after 9/11. That crazy shit about subcontractor's making so much loot doesn't piss you off? $75 for a bag of laundry. "Iraq for Sale" is a movie that should make you grind your teeth. Give it a look see man.

The truth of the matter is that y'all have a mortgage system designed by thieves for thieves it was quite simply that morality was thrown under the bus so people could make a killing. But whatever you do do not get rid of your precious middlemen.

A lot of people are blaming other people because of their own greed. Back in 04 when I bought my house they would've given me twice as much. I looked at the numbers and figured out a simple concept:
I COULDN'T AFFORD IT.

The regulators should've been stricter though.
