So I pulled the EPI 100s back down to the family room and brought the Acoustic Research 35T back up to the main system. I thought the EPIs were sounding pretty good, but the soundstage is much better with the ARs. Playing:

My Pioneer has had plenty of use in the past two years with no problems, and three years for the Sony. It's a bit time-consuming to do the original setup - if you want to know what discs are on it, that is.

I discovered that I get ShoutCast radio on my bluray player for free.

I like free And it's interesting. May be old hat to you tekkies but it's the frst time I've had straightforward access to online music, connected to my main rig to boot. The variety is breathtaking.

Are your ears sufficiently refined that you can tell the difference between that and your other sources? If I'm not running my laptop through an external sound card, I can tell the difference, but with the sound card I notice little drop off in quality.
