I believe we have influence over the planet now. Consider that practically the entire country east of the Mississippi was forest, they used to say that a squirrel could go from the Hudson river to teh Mississippi without touching the ground, among many other things.

But also the earth has done some pretty wild things all by itelf if the soothsayers are even occasionally correct. Maybe one of these days they'll have a model that'll run correctly - backwards

Throwing regulations (and power) willy nilly will only hurt the poor.

So, that means no regulation or intelligent regulation? Your Republican friends seem to favor none.

That ol' Louie Gomert's a purty smart feller.

But most of the brains left town when Rick Santorum was defeated.

Not to pick nits, but aren't we really discussing climate change as opposed to global warming which really does speak to the environmental mood swings?

Agreed.

Although in reality the issue is so large there is precious little we could do about it, even if we decided to.

The only real fix is - space! Move all dirty industry & power generation to orbit.

Maybe the Chinese will let us up there when we finally get around to it.

First we have PMS. PMS can lead to UMS (ugly mood swings). But now we have EMS (environmental mood swings)? Damn, no wonder the environmental crowd seems pissed off all the time.
