So lets if I have this story straight, the Bush administration in their war on drugs
implanted tracking devices into some guns and sold them undercover to
mexican smugglers. They notified the Mexican govt. and were only somewhat
succesfull at tracking them.
The Obama administration and ATF ordered some gun show dealers to sell
their guns without background checks or tracking devices installed to the
smugglers. A US border patrol agent was then killed with one of said weapons.
The ATF then went after the "shady" gun show dealers only to find out that
the gun dealers were smart enough to have taped the previous conversations
ordering them to sell the guns illegally. Then the shit hits the fan or the cover-
up begins.

Exactly...Bush caused the death of Brian Terry.
Now we need to prosecute Darrell Issa for stealing cars or something.
Pretty simple really.

OK to go after ATF for trying something granted stupid in hind sight. But what about all the other guns going south still from the US? This is a much bigger problem and something needs to be done. I don't have the answers and neither does the our Government or even the NRA!

Holder if I read it right was lied to by the local agents and once this was found out notified Congress. Why haven't the agents involved in the dealings been called to testify?

You think the only guns going south are the ones the ATF handled? I want the truth to come out what ever it is and where ever it leads. But we need to go after the right ones.

If Issa wasn't such a despicable greaseball and the GOP didn't come off as opportunistic and cynical pricks, I'd probably side wholeheartedly with them on this. As it is, I'm pretty ambivalent though still leaning toward full disclosure and letting the chips fall where they may.

True you are closer and get different news daily then I. But where are the guns produced? How do they get to Mexico?
