How to divide a political constituency

Step one: as a Democrat, and as President, announce your support for homosexual marriage

Step two: let the chips fall where they may.

Case in point: http://qctimes.com/news/local/iowa-n...9bb2963f4.html

A few days ago I posted an article about a Dem party leader in PA defecting over the issue. Folks here in this forum derided her as a DINO, and characterized her with other less flattering terms.

I suspect it would be tough to characterize this guy as a DINO, however.

When are you goofs going to realize gay marriage poses NO THREAT AT ALL to traditional marriage?

What, Mike? Are you suddenly going to go out and get a divorce because the queers can get married now? Huh? Your marriage is somehow diminished because of someone elses relationship choices?

How?

So, this guy quit the NAACP because of their stance on gay marriage. Who cares? Bye, bye, Rev. Keith!

No biggie. The GOP may be happy to have such folks within their ranks. However, they're losing damn near everybody under 25 in the process.

Well put Dave. Thanks. You saved me from a ultimately wasteful tirade that would've certainly fallen on deaf ears. Three pinochios for wackjob Whellie.

It's not me who's complaining about it, Blue. It's your fellow Democrat goofs that are complaining. Weird, huh?

What are you babbling about? That's all we hear from rightwing organizations and bullhorn blowers. Over and over again. "One man, one woman!" Remember?

I give you credit Whell. Your like the battery bunny and have lasted on this site longer than most. There appears to be no place for anyone sharing comments from the other side. Political chat is allowed if you happen to agree with the LEFT. If not...fodder for pit bull attacks.

Oh....One guy quits from the NAACP and it's evidence that it's "really the left" that is opposed to gay marriage? You do know that's the spin he's trying to suggest, don't you?

And then there's the second implication; That anyone who opposes him is simply "Refusing to admit being wrong.". That one won't wash either.

(BTW, did you mean to say "left"? Correct me if I am in error, but I think you did.)
