QFT In addition to my work experience in the trades, there was a little period of fun in the profession of retail sales. I tried retail door to door and immediately discovered that cold calling was not my cuppa. You've got to have a real need for rejection in large amounts for that field. Everytime I see those kids out proseletizing I'm reminded Dale Carnegie.
Not something usually associated together (God and Mammon) so I have always taken a dim view of these doorbell ringers. I usually interupt them and firmly tell 'em I'm not buying today and shut the door.
I stumbled into retail furniture and didn't get out for 17 years. (just a little sidetrack from pounding nails)

The money was very decent for someone without a college education. One nice benefit to those furniture stores was the down time waiting for an up to walk in the door which I spent reading rather than BSing around a H2O cooler.
(I'm just learning to write, thanks to a bum shoulder.

Not to mention youse bums!
