DT is manipulative and evil; a devil among devils.
He is not crazy, although I can see how he would appear that way to some people. IMHO, he is a very strong leader over his cult following. If Mike Pence hadn't broke with him, his coup attempt might have actually succeeded. Many people viewed Churchill as evil; https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-29701767 Teddy wasn't exactly a peach, either.
