It's the clear implication of his statement. If you don't see that, it's because you don't want to.

Can you picture Carson in a room full of people who are in the process of being shot call for a time out so he can say to everyone, "Hey, guys, let's rush this lunatic. Sure, I might get shot. You might get shot but maybe one of us will get through!"

I think if he found himself in a situation like that, he'd shit his pants. I think most of us would.
