Tell me about this kind of stupidity. The day I went to the naturalization ceremony I was carrying a briefcase. The guards did not even ask me to open it. They practically patted down my wife simply because she is of Spanish decent. So I got the asshole's badge number and wrote to my Senator.. He got his ass handed to him on a plate.

The RICO statutes allow for this shit....right? First of all, law enforcement has gotten away with these seizures where RICO applications are a stretch, at best. And I don't understand how they get away with grabbing somebody's assets allegedly accumulated by illegal activity when they don't yet have a conviction for that activity. Has the SCOTUS ever ruled in this?

Hell the war on drugs has already denied even citizens the protections of the 4th and 6th amendments, never mind non documented aliens.

Well, per se, that's no rights. The word 'unalienable' isn't in the Constitution. It's in the Declaration of Independence, which I argue has 'constitutional status,' but that's sort of different, so let that go for now....

Happily, the Bill of Rights language generally refers to 'the people' or 'persons,' inclusive words that extends protections even to illegal aliens while they are in US jurisdiction.

Quote:
Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
