I have to admit to a certain amount of surprise (as I've posted elsewhere) at the fast reversal of fortune for the Dems. I remember Kamala polling at around 5% when she dropped out in 2020 and the last approval rating I saw for her as VP (pre-declaration) was ~ 36%.

I put it down to relief on the part of the Democratic electorate that they're no longer bound to vote for a querulous frightened old man.
