I probably should have added that GHW had a great big pile of manure left on his plate by the Reaganauts and the evangelistas but given his bluenosed Yalie Connecticut upbringing and his tenure in the CIA, I was loath to trust him. I did appreciate how he handled the first Gulf war, it took great big balls not to press his luck by heading into Iraq after Swartzkopf cleared Saddam's Republican guard out of Kuwait.
No offense Pat but the gaping hole left for Obama to fill was magnitudes worse than what Old Man Bush faced and Obie won twice by some pretty historic numbers.
He's more moderate Republican than anything else, imo. That's his real problem and well, the wack right 'baggers in the House and Senate.
