Of course it has. When certainty does not exist, 'what-if this' and 'what-if that' questions give rise to alternative possible meanings.

It's my assertion that Zeke is assuming things too, though he claims he isn't, and you seem to have bought into that. One goal of the post you mention was to attempt to open his mind to other interpretations.
