If you don't like the "attitude" about treating benefits as employer - funded health care, you should dislike Obamacare as well. Obamacare cements the requirement of employer - funded healthcare into federal law.
I don't believe most true progressives like the ACA at all...outside of it ending the pre-existing condition bullshit, and that it finally makes covered healthcare available to everybody.

True progressives want the for-profit insurance industry and employers out of health care. It's why you keep seeing various lefties saying, over and over, that they'll support a Republican politician who will work toward a government sponsored single payer system.

What I do believe is that after all this time, those who oppose the ACA without suggesting an affordable plan that covers everybody, or supporting any politician with an existing affordable plan that covers everybody (if you can find one), don't give a shit in Boner's hat for how many American families are going bankrupt every year in this country and for how many people are dying every year in this country for lack of that coverage.

So the rest of the discussion, such as the bilge in your first paragraph above, at this point is just an effort at distraction and misdirection by those who don't care about those who are sick or less fortunate who are going broke and dying for nothing but partisan bullshit.
